Wolf Tone Eliminator

A wolf tone is an unwanted sympathetic overtone that sounds when the original pitch matches the natural resonant frequency of the body of your instrument. A wolf tone is frequently accompanied by an oscillating beating, which can sound like the howling of a wolf. Pretty crazy, right? But you don't need to know the science behind the wolf tone to fix it. Cellos and string basses are especially prone to wolf tones. By placing the wolf eliminator on the offending string, you can adjust it up or down to eliminate most wolf tones. Once you find the right spot on the string, tighten the locking nut to keep it in place.
