Heather Leach-Trickel

French Horn

Years Teaching: 4+

Education:
Heather started her musical career at 6 years old on the violin, and began playing French Horn at 8 years old. She studied under Bill Sprague, the retired Principle Horn of the Omaha Symphony, her Sophomore year of high school. She continued her studies under Ross Snyder, the current principle of the Omaha Symphony, her Freshman year of college. She is currently a Junior at Kennesaw State University, pursuing her Bachelor of Music in Music Education.

Experience:
Heather participated and placed in the Elk-horn Band Olympics her Freshman and Sophomore years of high school. She has participated in the Douglas District Music Festivals since the 6th grade. She won Principle chair for this festival her Junior and Senior years of High school. She won the Superior Soloist Award all 4 years of high school at the Omaha Districts Solo Festival. She won Principle chair for the BOCH (Band, Orchestra, and Choir at the Holland) her junior and senior years of high school. She also participated in both All-State Band and Orchestra on French Horn her Junior and Senior years of high school, and won Principle Horn her senior year. She worked led high/low brass sectionals her Sophomore through her Senior year of high school. She ran sectionals for the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the Heartland Philharmonic Orchestra her Freshman and Sophomore Years of college. She has been the principal horn for the Nebraska Intercollegiate Festival, and the Heartland Philharmonic Orchestra her Sophomore year of college. She has also been the Principle Horn of the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and the Nebraska Wind Symphony her Freshman and Sophomore Years of college. She also taught general music at Leonard Lawrence elementary school her Sophomore year of college.
