Mr. Newton received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in piano performance at the Juilliard School in New York City. He continues to study and read widely in the fields of piano pedagogy, piano performance, and music theory.
Experience
Mr. Newton has been teaching piano privately at all levels and ages for over forty- five years. He has been a faculty member of the Newark Community Center of the Arts and Clayton State College and University. He has participated as a performer in the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Sienna, Italy, directed by Guido Agosti. He has performed at the Aspen Music Festival and with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Newton has been a presenter at various music associations.
Objective
To build a solid foundation in the skills needed for musicianship and piano playing; to instill a love of music and the confidence so important in expressing that love at the piano; all while enjoying the process of discovery, growth, and accomplishment; to make piano lessons fun and rewarding.
