Education

Jacob began learning to play the guitar when he was in the fifth grade. He continued music through school as a member of the marching band, wind ensemble, and performed with his own band outside of school. Jacob is currently a senior at Kennesaw State University furthering his music expertise in the KSU Jazz program studying under Trey Wight. He plans to graduate with a degree in Jazz Guitar Performance in the fall of 2026.

Experience
Jacob’s professional career began at 16 years old, when he began performing with the Patrick Ford band. After high school, Jacob began pursuing music full time job while working towards his Jazz Guitar Performance degree. He has travelled the continent performing in clubs, concert halls, festivals, and arenas. He currently plays lead with the Landon Smith band, where he has opened for acts like Ella Langley, Riley Green, Whiskey Myers, Gavin Adcock, Austin Snell, and many more. In addition to live performances, he has recorded a live album with thirteen-time Grammy Award winning producer Dave Cobb in the historic RCA Studio A.

Objective
To expose students to new possibilities through music by:
  • Giving students a strong foundation in music theory

  • Developing the necessary skills and traits of a successful musician

  • Exposing students to new styles/genres of music

  •  Building fluency on the guitar
