Mike Farlow

First of all, let me thank you for your interest, and allow me to introduce myself.

I am Mike Farlow and I have been plating guitar for 30 + years. Mainly a self-taught player, I studied classical guitar and music theory at Kennesaw College for a year. Being a “Self Taught” player means I learned early on how much I did not know, and so began seeking advice, knowledge and instruction from players in all styles of music, things I remember and draw upon to this day. I realize how amazingly interwoven the many styles and genres of music are, separated only by loose parameters and concepts.

I am most proficient in slide guitar, rock lead, and improvisation, electric and acoustic playing, my style borrows form everything – from gospel and country to blues and jazz.

A solid understanding of the basics with a broad pallet of styles to draw from is what I offer.

Finally, I consider it an opportunity and privilege to pass on the knowledge I’ve picked up along the way.

1976 – 1990: Guitar Instruction – North Georgia Music, Ken Stanton, Marietta Music, Jennings Music, Musical Expression, and Dirt Cheap Music.

1990 – 2005: Private Students, Club Dates and small concert venues, limited studio sessions (mostly slide and dobro work), original music and demo work.
